This learning activity packet can be used by teachers to assess their students' reading and thinking skills on assigned or self selected reading. The students will respond to several questions about the nonfiction piece they have just completed reading. The packet also includes a "students' project" section. The student will choose from many motivating activities to complete independently or with partners in response to the literature. This work can be shared with other classmates in the spirit of encouraging them to also read the book.
