Description
This one page, simple-to-use form is applicable to multiple grade levels. It encourages students to evaluate fiction and non-fiction writing. Students record their perceptions on four levels.These levels take students past the ordinary role of simply summarizing what they read to higher levels of understanding. The log even has an area for students to record specific questions.
Each log is designed to be used for whatever reading assignment you choose to give. For example, a student might write a log on one chapter or a group of chapters in a novel or a log on a short story or a poem. Any reading assignment in any area you might assign can generate a corresponding reading log.
You will find yourself relying on this form in conjunction with every reading assignment in your classroom.
